SUMMARY
The Registry Chaplain, on an as-needed basis, provides effective spiritual care to patients/residents and families, assessing spiritual/religious needs and resources and assuring that sacramental and ritual needs are met; initiates contact with local clergy as needed; actively collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team; provides spiritual care to staff and contributes to the spiritual well-being of the local ministry; provides timely and effective care to patients/residents approaching the end of life; assumes responsibility for on-going professional development; and adheres to ethical standards set forth by the chaplaincy profession and the Catholic Church.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivery of Care: Actively engages with patients/residents and families to assess spiritual/religious needs and resources; provides effective spiritual care to promote patient/resident well-being and continuity of care; provides/arranges for sacramental and ritual needs of patients/residents; actively collaborates with interdisciplinary care team; documents ministry in the patient's/resident's medical record; initiates contact with area clergy as needed.
Care for Staff and Local Ministry: Provides spiritual support to staff; models and promotes Presence Health Mission and Values and actively contributes to the spiritual well-being of the local ministry.
End-of-Life Care: Actively promotes advance care planning; provides timely and effective support to patients/residents approaching end of life and to their loved ones; provides supportive care and guidance at time of death; provides support to families in meeting their bereavement needs.
On-going Professional Development: Assumes responsibility for continued professional development; demonstrates a working knowledge of current theory and practice of health care chaplaincy and integrates such information into practice.
Ethical Practice: Adheres to the Common Code of Ethics for Chaplains, Pastoral Counselors, Pastoral Educators and Students, and Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services; adheres to all department, ministry and system standards, policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

Advanced interpersonal skills necessary to conduct formal presentations and to communicate effectively with patients, residents, families, physicians, and employees often during times of crisis.
Emotional maturity with an ability to cope with crisis situations and to respond appropriately is necessary. Good interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Must be in good standing with faith community and endorsed by an appropriate denominational authority to function in health care ministry.
Education and/or Experience
Required: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Preferred: Master's degree or equivalent from an accredited college, university, seminary or divinity school in theology, divinity, religious studies, pastoral ministry, pastoral studies, or spirituality.
Preferred: One year of previous experience in hospital or health care setting.
Required: One or more units of accredited Clinical Pastoral Education.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
